Well, we finished our eight-week look at the Order of Salvation this past Sunday! Here is the last set of questions to help you think through and live out these doctrines:
1. Read John 10:27-29. How does this further teach that Jesus is the Good Shepherd (John 10)? What comfort does this doctrine give you?
2. If only those who persevere to the end have truly been born again, then what does this mean for believers who clearly are not living according to their professed faith in Christ?
3. Do you find yourself falling into the trap of thinking that you are “saved” by God’s grace, but it is up to you to “stay in” this state of grace? How does God’s justifying grace correct this mindset? His persevering grace?
4. If glorification is a grace which we will not enjoy until death, then what hope does this give us in the present?
5. Take a moment to meditate on what it will be like to be completely freed from the presence of sin in your life. Thank God for His work in your heart.
6. If our ultimate destiny is to live with God on the New Earth (Rev. 21) in a physical, glorified body, then what should this mean for the way we look at the world now? Do you every find yourself striving to escape the world, rather than to be an agent of God’s transformation?
7. Scripture teaches in Revelation 20:11-15 that all people will stand before the judgment throne of God. When you stand before God and are asked to give an account of your life, what will you say? Why should God save your soul?
Take a moment to think about this last question. If you are not sure what you would say, ask God to show you the truth. Admit your sins to God and put all of your trust in Jesus Christ to save you (Romans 5:8; 1 John 1:9). Believe that Jesus Christ saves sinners, and He can save you, too. If you want to talk about Jesus, ask a Christian friend or email me at candrewjones@gmail.com and I’ll be glad to help you in any way.
You guys have been an awesome class, and I have had an amazing time going through these glorious truths with you! In light of God’s grace, let us live humbly, gratefully, and joyfully before Him in this world.
